Retrinal contains Retinaldehyde, a patented advanced form of Retinal and the direct precursor to prescription-strength Retinoic Acid. Think of Retrinal as a just stronger than traditional over-the-counter Retinal, but not quite as strong as Retinoic Acid. Being on the stronger side of the vitamin A family, if you are new to retinals you are advised to start with the lower dose Retrinal 0.05 and later increase dosage to Retrinal 0.1 as needed.
